How often are hoses and belts change on a 2001 Yukon? Thinking of buying a 2001 Yukon..has only 64k miles, but 2nd owner said he has not done anything to the car other than regular oil change. He bought the car when it has 15k miles...only concern I have is he's only driven car 17k miles in 70 months..thats only about 290 miles per month..car is in great shape (garaged)...interior looks a little more worn for a 64k miles car? (he has kids)..I able to get truck at very good price ......oh...owner has new wheels 22 Boss Rims and new tires..it's a steal at $9900 cash...should I buy it without mechanical inspection since mileage is so low?
SOUND LIKE A GOOD DEAL DRIVE AROUND LISTEN FOR WORN CV JOINTS. MAKE SURE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING SMOOTH .LOOK FOR POWER GOING UP HILLS IF GOING UP HILLS TOO SLOW NO UP SHIFT FELT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER CHANGE 60000 BELTS CHANGED 60000 MILES. HOSES SHOULD BE CHANGED IF THEY FEEL SOFT OR LOOK SWOLLEN REPLACE THEM.IF THEY LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN ON VECHICLE FOR A WHILE REPLACE THEM HOSES DONT COST MUCH.
Hoses about every 6 years, Belts every 30k And if its that clean, Drive it and make sure it shifts out ok warm and hot, Get it up to 50-60 mph with all sounds off and listen for a whine even a slight wine, If none heard id say buy it, The whine i spoke of is rear diff noise by the way.
