How to change the engine thermostat
5 cyclinder, Air, 4 WD am not leaking any fluid the engine light came on and the person at Auto Zone put the gizmo on it and said it could be theremostat or engine coolant low or bad sensor. The sensor in truck works find and I have added fluid just in case. Am waiting for computer recycle and see if that is problem I was wondering where and how bad is it to change theremostat. I think it is on the lower hose to the block Helpl would be appreciated. Thaks

Nope, that's not where it is; it's on top of the block where the thick radiator hose connects to it! That is the housing where the thermostat is inside. Drain the system. Pull off the radiator hose from the fitting and loosen the two bolts holding the housing. There you will see the thermostat looking at you (you may have to pry the top of the housing off, sometimes they are cemented in with a gasket). Reverse order after dropping in new stat!
