On the transmission pan, you will find a bolt, inside the bolt is a plug. Start the vehicle and remove the plug. Fluid should come out. Drip or very small stream. If it doesn't, you have to add fluid threw that hole until it starts coming out.
How does a person get fluid up into that small hole if I decide to do a drain and fill? Must be a pressurized system to add the fluid upwards. How does a person get fluid up into that small hole if I decide to do a drain and fill? Must be a pressurized system to add the fluid upwards.
To drain and fill, loosen the inner plug first. Then remove the big bolt to drain it. Yes you have to have something that will push the fluid threw the small hole. You need to ad about 3 quarts before you start the engine, then add till it has a small stream coming out the hole. One other option you have. It can be messy and takes two people. At the back of the transmission on the drivers side there is a speed sensor, up kind of high. Remove it and use a long hose that will go in it. Hook it to a funnel(the funnel has to be higher than the transmission) and have some one pour the fluid in as you watch under it with the plug out. Again add at least 3 quarts first before you start the engine. The thing with doing it this way is the hose can only be in so far or it will rub on the speedo gear. It doesn't hurt the gear, but you don't need all the trash from the hose in the transmission. To drain and fill, loosen the inner plug first. Then remove the big bolt to drain it.
