We have an Evenflo Jenny Lind Convertible Crib, Can't get to the model # right now because the baby is sleeping in it! Got it hand-me-down, and had downloaded the instructions from Evenflo at that time (several years ago, with baby #1). It has the metal mattress support, which the instructions say you can't use as a toddler bed, but I can't seem to find the wooden mattress support anywhere. Other Jenny Lind convertible cribs seem to use metal mattress supports, and you just attach a guard rail on the side; would that work for this style? I don't really get the safety issue after conversion, so I'm not sure what to protect against. Or do I just need to scrap it and go find a toddler bed...?
