How to defrost kitchenaid refrigerator
Kitchenaid French door refrigerator w10815169A does not appear to be defrosting. Is there a way to force defrosting? It freezes ice in the freezer but the back cooling fins are a solid block of ice and no cooling air can reach the refrigerator.

With an ice build up this much, the auto defrost wont have any chance of working so you will have to do a manual defrost.
Just turn off the power and wait a few hours for the thing to fully defrost. You can help things along by using a hair dryer, but avoid sharp objects and scrapers as you may damage something.
You will have to store the things from the refrigerator in someone else's fridge or in foam boxes while you do this to avoid damage to the food.
When you open the fridge door in the future to get things in or out, try to not leave it open for more than a few seconds at a time as this will help avoid it doing this again. Each time you open the door, you let moist warm air go inside and this contributes to the ice build up.
