How to fix a Fujifilm FinePix S4000
After removing the lens cover and then powered on I get a statement on the LCD screen that says "turn camera off , remove lens cover or obstruction and turn camera on" the lens is off and I don't see an obstruction. i notice the zoom is not working, the lens usually moves at first when turned on but it is not moving at this time.

Some times small particles or grit get into the lens housing and prevent movement... try holding the camera vertical with the lens pointing down and tap the back of the camera firmly a couple of times... keep the camera in this postion and switch the camera ON and OFF a couple of times to try and loosen any foreign particles... you may have to repeat this procedure several more times before you achieve success...
