How to get my CPU to run at the correct speed
Hi,
In a nutshell, I can't get my AMD Athlon XP 3200+ to run at its optimum speed of 2.2Ghz as it should. I've flashed the Bios to accept the CPU, but I believe ther may be a jumper setting to adjust, if so, which one? Any adjustments in the system Bios only causes instability in the system either causing crashes, reboots at will, or lock ups. There is a solution, as others have had this same problem, but I'm ******** if anyone can come up with a clear solution.
I have attached all the info you should need with CPU-Z readouts, hope you can help.
Cheers

Your FSB should be 400 MHz for the Athlon XP 3200+ processor.
CPU-Z shows your core speed at 1320 and your FSB at 241. If you multiply those numbers by 1.66, you get 2200 and 400. So all you have to do is get the board to the correct FSB speed of 400 and your core will be right.
There are two MSI boards with the number CPU-Z gives you. Board 1
Board two
The AMD page doesn't show the core voltage for the older processors, they do for the current ones. I looked at the MSI site and didn't see their manuals online for the motherboards either, sorry. I'm not positive it was changed using a jumper though, you saw nothing in the BIOS to set it? If the jumpers are on the board they may be labeled FSB and you can try the various positions.
Hope that helps, good luck.
FixYa has the manual online
This site says your system clock is 200 and your multiplier is 11. Your core voltage appears to be correct.
SW1 in your photo should be set to 1-2, giving you a clock speed of 200MHz
Do you have the MSI utilities described in the manual? Core Center and Live Monitor? It seems odd your default settings are not correct, this board seems ideal, even for overclocking.
The photo you posted appears to have it set on 1-2 already, those two are surrounded by solid white, indicating contact to me. What about the bios settings under Frequency/Voltage control (page 34 in the online manual)? Does your default settings look just like the manual, the "CPU FSB CLOCK" set at 100? If so, when you changed it to 200, did you also change the CPU RATIO to 11.0 and the VCORE to 1.65 in case the auto settings didn't match? And did you leave the memory timing at the default settings?
You might also try removing all but one stick of memory to eliminate one potential problem.
