How to replace the tension spring in a bobbin case?
I was putting a new bobbin into the bobbin case today, and after doing that and closing the cover on the machine, I pressed down on the foot to make sure the bobbin was drawing thread. The needle went down once, made a sound like metal hitting metal. I got the needle free and checked the bobbin, only to find that though the bobbin case would move, it was attached to the ceiling of it's chamber by a spring. Now, I cannot figure out where this spring came from, but I have an idea it may be the tension spring that belongs in the bobbin case. Is there any way I can fix this? I don't want to wrack up the funds for a new bobbin case...
