Sometimes the electronic control module will go to sleep. Try cycling the ignition key in the door lock/unlock 3 or 4 times and see if it starts working. Some later model cars will also start to shut down various functions if the battery/charging system have an issue. If the key does not resolve the issue get the charging system tested.
