How to test a crankshaft sensor on a 1993 Dodge Dakota 5.2 liter engine
Truck will start and run then loose power and die. Sometimes will restart and run really rough with backfiring and other times only roll over and strong odor of fuel.
Have changed the following parts in the past 6 months: fuel filter, coil, distributor, rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cleaned ignition switch corrosion, checked relays, checked voltage coming from and going to coil and spark plug wires

Check your catalytic converter for clogged up.
disconnect the exhaust pipe before the cat and run the engine to see if it still cut off.
if it run better, then that's the problem
