Hi my rule for cooking rice is 1 part rice: 2 parts water big pinch of salt. This can we'll be done in the micro. Set it for 10 minutes, open the door and wander how the rice is doing. Take a fork. Put into the rice and find out how cooked it is. You will probably need another 10-15 minutes. Depends on the micro. With a rice cooker it is much more accurate. Look inside the inner pot ,on the one side there could be numbers for cups of rice and on the other side for cups of water.
