Hp 4315 won't print...computer recognizes printer, but always says there is an error...when try to cancel print job I must turn off compy and printer and unplug printer to get job deleted. How do i fix this (have already assigned ports)

I am a technician working in a school that had lots of different models of HP printers and they all had this fault. HP don't seem to be able to sort this out as the printers ranged in age from 7 years to 9 months old. Sometimes I had to keep the printers turned off for up to 3 days before the print queue would clear. The best solution I found was to replace all the HP **** with Brother or Epson printers; no more errors.
While the uninstall/reinstall option works the error will reoccur if you are using HP printers.
Un-install / re-install printer software with printer UNPLUGGED. Follow software instructions.
