HP LCD monitor power button repeatedly blinking blue
My computer is about a year old. It is a Compaq media edition and in excellent condition. About a week ago my monitor went into standby whenever I would turn my computer off, whenever I would turn the system back on - I could not see a thing on the screen. So I switched the monitor out, thinking if it didn't work it would be the tower itself. Well, it worked and now I am using one of those big, clunky, white old school monitors without sound, which drives me crazy when I cannot listen to music/watch tv shows etc.
I've tried everything that I know of to fix this problem, but no matter what I do - the power light still blinks blue. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm trying to save the 200 bucks it would cost to go get it looked at.

Alright let me be the first, let's check the simple things first. Did you try toggling the FN+F5 or FN+F6....if it is playing on the other monitor you already did that or it was toggled for dual monitor and that's why you're not getting any video.
I apologize I thought you were using a laptop....however, given the fact that you can use a monitor then it is not your Compaq but rather the monitor itself. There are no tricks or troubleshooint methods on DeskTop monitors as they are simple like televisions. The problem is inside the monitor and that can only be serviced by someone who works on monitors or T.V.s. The monitor carries an alarming amount of electricity that can cause electrocution to an untrained individual.
