the first and most simple is that the tire needs speed balancing. the tire is made up of a rubber layer, then steel threads then a fibre layer and then more rubber. In some tire's the steel threads tend to shift causeing the tire to go out of balance.
the second is a bad bearing. There is a bearing inside the rotar that spins with the tire. This bearing tends to shed after a while if the grease is burn out or dust and sand gets up inside it.
the third is the velocity joint. But the noise this makes is a rather a rattleing sound when u turn corners heavily.
I'm betting that the bearing inside the rotar needs to be replaced. Dirve the car in your yard or for a short distance on the road and then touch the rims (center of) it shoul be hot to the touch. On closer inspecting he humming noise will apper to be coming from behind the tire. The fix for this is
Remove tire
remove rotar (by disconnecting link arms and shocks, stablizers etc.
take the rotar to a machine shop and have the bearing pressed out
buy a new one and have the machine shop press it back in
reassemble rotar and components
put back on the tire.
drive
It's a bit complicated for a novice or someone without any experience. If you have some and wanna give it a shot. by all means do. If not than I strongly suggest getting a mechanic or someone who knows about it.
Feel free to ask for further information if necessary.
You might also want to have your brakes checked. Once the pads start to wear out they are designed to make a similar noise to alert you that they need to be changed. You may also want to check and see if you have picked up a nail in your tire. A wheel bearing usually makes a roaring sound. On newer model vehicles if it were the wheel bearings you would pull the hub off and replace it with a new one. The bearings are already packed in. If it is an older model then you would pull the hub, replace the bearings by packing them in with grease.----Most likely a foreign object stuck in tire tread if sound is constant regardless of wheel position and is louder outside the window than inside the vehicle. Action: Check all tire treads.Yes it is wheel bearing that is causing clicking in the front wheel of your car tire. You should make it tight because if this screw is loose then in result you hear some weird noise or clicking. You can easily tight it with the help of screw.remove the tire from which you hear a noise and check out internally for any kind of loose screws and blockages in the plate. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
