I a viking professional 1000w mixer - i can't get the attachements to attach to the planetary. someone gave me this, so i'm thinking there is a part missing, although i'm unable to locate anything from the service manual. there is nothing to turn the attachments counterclockwise into on the shaft... what part am i missing?
Was able to locate a manual: http://www.vikingrange.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2610051_F20258 TO INSERT AND REMOVE A STANDARD ACCESSORY (V-BEATER, STAINLESS STEEL WHIP, DOUGH HOOK) • Turn the head lift release lever counter clockwise to release the head and raise until it locks. • Place the tool in the tool receptacle and easily turn counter-clockwise until it stops; push the tool into the receptacle. • To remove the tool, simply unscrew, clockwise. • To lower the mixer head: turn the head lift release lever counter-clockwise to release the head and slowly lower it until it locks. It sounds simple and no reference made to the tool clicking in place; make sure you turn the correct direction and then push in to seat the tool. Before giving up I would suggest you contact Viking Customer Support. You can call 1-888-845-4641 and they may be able to explain any trick to attaching the tool. You might also consider visiting a retail outlet that carries the product and see if you can get a demo in person. On-line Dealer Locator.
Contact Viking customer support at vikingrange.com and describe your problem. They can get you the correct part quickly. I looked on their web site for an exploded diagram, but didn't see one. They'll help you with this and I'm sure that the costs associated with repairing your mixer will be minimal. Best regards, --W/D--
