1) In Start --> Programs --> Accessories. There's a program in there called 'Character Map' that has all the accents and characters in. Simply copy (CTRL + C) and paste (CTRL + V) the letters to where you need them.
2) If you have a numeric keypad on your laptop, turn on the NUM LOCK, and hold the ALT key down while pressing 3 numbers, and you get a character out. On a UK keyboard, for example, ALT 155 is "¢" and ALT 156 is "£". Which character you get out for a specific number depends upon which country you're in (the kb layouts are different), so I can't give you a list. A little experimentation will enable you to find frequently-used ones. =================================================== Please rate me if you found this helpful. Thanks.
