I am hooking up a connex cx4600 turbo to to freightliner cascadia. with 8gauge wire I have a60 amp in line fuse is that to big I'm connecting straight to battery?

Depends on how long the run is. Remember the fuse protects the wire not the load :-). Average run is 15ft, most run a 50amp, or 40amp.
