I am installing a Toto S-300 Washlet on a Toto enlongated toilet. My issue is the baseplate position. The baseplate is preassembled with screws inside rubber mountings that are inserted into the toilet seat mounting holes. The instructions aren't clear about how far one is to inset the rubber mountings into the holes. There are two bumps on each of the rubber mountings. Does one insert the rubber mountings so that just the bottom bump goies through the mounting hole, so that the baseplate stands proud of the toilet? Or, does one insert both of the bumps all the way into the mounting holes, so that the baseplate is more or less flush with the tolet?

There must be a gap of 1/16" or more between the toilet tank and rear of the paper template. For an elongated toilet the bolt on the mounting plate should be toward the front of the slot on the base plate. The base plate must be tightened down until it touches the toilet and there is no gap.
