I am looking into getting a 12" kicker L7 solo-baric and it says its 1500 watts max and 750 rms. duel voice coil. My question is I have a alpine mrp-m500 amp. Will this amp do enough to make the sub sound good or should I get bigger? If so what would you suggest. Im gonna put it in a extended cab chevy 1500. Also would you suggest a ported or sealed box? uim just gonna set it on the back seat. Thanks, Kyle

That will push it but you could use more power. Like a kicker zx750.1 which is designed for the s12l7 and s15l5. As far as ported or enclosed all depends. If you want deep sounding base then ported. If you want to feel (rattle your chest and truck) the bass then enclosed. If you use the alpine amp then i would wire it parallel. If you get something more powerful (kicker zx750.1) I would wire it in a series to provide some protection for the speaker so you don't overload it even though it can handle that much power.
