I am repairing a Craftsman countertop 13? planer I got from a neighbor. The model#351.217430 has 2 damaged gears #18267.00 and #18351.00. I?ve ordered the parts from sears but can?t figure out how to remove gear #18351.00 from the shaft. Is it pressed on or does it take a special tool to remove it? I appreciate your help. Robert
No special tool - and it is a clearance fit. May be "aged" in place. Use a small torch and heat it up a bit (just the gear - then a brass hammer to separate the gear from the shaft. Wait for the shaft to cool and clean it well before installing the new one.
