I am running the Modern Warfare 2 game with a Dell computer and an NVidia 9600 graphics card. This is my second run through the game and now a few seconds after I start the interaction (after the initial movie stuff) the screen goes black and there is no signal getting to my monitor, plus a few seconds after that, I hear stuttering in the game and it quits too. This happens with other games now too, as I checked to see if it was specific to Modern Warfare 2 or not. It is not

Have you tried reinstalling the game? If not, that may help.

If this also doesn't fix your problem, you can try to restore to a restore point before the problem started using Windows system restore (it's in Control Panel and in Help and Support)
If that also doesn't fix the problem, all you can do is reinstall Windows. This will cause you to lose all your programs and data, and I'm not sure it will work, but I can give you a walkthrough, if you wish.
