After watching a few Utube videos on how to shampoo with my Kirby, I reattached very slowly. I cleaned any kind of debris I could see. All water and suds are going into carpet. Is it due to berber carpet? But why is suds coming out of machine in straight line?

I would ensure the brush roll is rotating, this should distribute the suds evenly, check the belt is on and engaged and rotating.
