I am trying to strip a Massey Ferguson 175 starter motor. I can't work out to remove the main bearing from the splined shaft that fits into the bendix gear
Maybe the bearing is just press fitted but there is two unusual plastic keyed parts separated by little springs on the front of the bearing.

What brand of starter motor is it ( bosh, delco , lucas, mitsubishi etc)
go google and type in-- repair manual for ( make ) starter motor
if there is a pdf version download it
maybe a photo of the part would help as well
