I am trying to use smartguard on a fargo pro-l, I insert card, I have smartshield enabled in properties area, tha card clicks in, i try to send image to card, nothing ever shows on lcd. So i try to print a card and the lcd prompts "No Shield Loaded". Can the card be bad or the printer lack software that would pass the image info to the smartguard card?

Most probably you have the wrong software version and or Smartcard mismatch.
There were two versions of smart guard software: version 1.01 for Pro series and version 1.03 for DTC series.
The smart card must also match the printer series; it is printed on the card.
However some printers have the slot for the smart card but no smart card reader installed.
