I am using a Fujifilm xD-Picture card H512mb in my Fujifilm s5500 camera. I've used this same card before in the same camera, but thother day took the card out and downloaded its photos direct on my laptop. I now find that on re-inserting the card in the camera , the camera screen say "card not initialised" and it won't work. How do I remedy this, please?

The message is trying to tell you that you need to format the card. The owners manual will have "how to format" information for your camera.
If you cannot format the card it could be the card or the camera. The only way to know for sure is to use another card and then check if you still have the same problem...
