I am using QB Premier 2009. Whenever I back up my file, I get an error during Verify and I'm told backup can't continue and I should run Rebuild. When I choose to run Rebuild, I'm notified that QB has to back-up my data first, which it does. When Rebuild starts, it gets to about 38% complete before numerous (100+) Runtime Errors 216 start appearing. I then have to run Task Mgr to Stop the program. Sometimes QB comes back saying it has a fatal error and needs to close. A little more background...I did upgrade from QB PRO 2007 to QB Premier 2009 back in March. This problem did not exist with Pro. Any thoughts out there would be very much appreciated?
I have seen this happen on many different levels in QBooks. Try this MCC726

download this. I know you have tried about everything from what i can see. but i have had luck with this program on a QB Premier 2009 on a new 64bit system. I kept getting errors during the times the user was attempting to run reports that displayed the same error information as yours.
Ccleaner is a free program, similar to your registry mechanic. but humor me, because i have seen it work many times before. load the program. make sure you have user privileges at an admin level when you scan. then go to the option to scan the registry, and fix the errors. do not save the backup of the registry when it asks and click finish. try that out. let me know if that resolves your issue. if it works great! if it still causes a problem, restart and try the QB program, its the strangest thing i have seen, but for some reason i have to visit this little accounting office once every 2 months and run this program and clean the registry files that get in a funk. low and behold it works for them. let me know how that goes!
