Red tones are usually caused by a few things. First try to reseat or use a differnent vga cable from your computer. If that does not work, There may be a bad bulb in the lcd panel. (bad bulbs will show up red until they totally burn out, then the monitor wont stay lit.) There is also a chance that the power board is getting weak and isn't putting out enough power to fully light the bulbs. To check for the problem in the board or possibly the screen, the monitor would have to be opened up.
