I bought the ION Tailgater in USA but I live in Argentina where the input voltage is 220W. I uncovered the cap behind the device and the switch of 110-220 was there, my question is should this work??? (I'm afraid because this switch was covered with a small metal cap and 2 screws)

You should have no problems. I live in Australia, with 240 VAC, and we see this type of thing a lot. Put the cap back on once you have switched it. I have seen a computer power supply that was accidentally switched back to 120 as the switch had no cover.
