I bought this Targus Chillmat 8 months ago and when I plug in the USB, it seems like only half of the fan is working. The chord that attaches to the USB port to plug into the laptop looks broken, but I'm not sure if it is or not. So I'm wondering if the USB chord is broken, or something inside of it. Anyone have any ideas?

A USB has only 2 power wires, the outer ones onpin 1 and pin 4, which is 5 VDC. The two inner pins 2 and 3 carry data only, which can't power a fan.
As part of the cooler is working it is more likely a fan problem.
