I can no longer locate my removable hard drive when I hook it up to the computer. It used to work just fine; in fact I've got stuff on it I want to access...but my computer will no longer read it. The drivers are there but the automatic box that opens when I connect to the removable no longer appears (the box launches for any other removable USB item I use) Even a search (which worked when this first began happening) no longer works. This thing has become a ghost and I really want the info on it! hope you can help!

Click start, right click my computer then manage, disk manage ment all this whle the drive is pulgged in, locate the drive by its size. Right click on the drive and create a drive letter for it viola
Double Click My Computer to see if you can see the removable drive. If its not there, right click my computer, manage, disk management. Look for a drive without a drive letter. Right click the drive, click on "change drive letter and parts", click on add. Choose a drive letter and click ok or apply as the case may be to get your pc to recognize your external drive.
