Welcome to FixYa. My name is Steve. The surefire way to see if your cd rom will work with your computer is to boot your computer with the windows 98 start up disk and choose the option to start the computer with cd support. If you do not have a start up floppy you can make one using the Microsoft instructions at this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/187632 If your cd works with the generic drivers loaded with that Start up floppy then you need only to locate the drivers for your cd rom which you have not yet specified as to the brand and model number. Post that info if you need more help. Steve Medley
