Sylvia2265, My best guess is that the unit's power supply (internal) is bad or at least a bit on the "Almost Bad" condition. When "strange" and "unexplained" things start to occur with a CCFL back-lit LCD monitor, I would immediatly suspect the units "switch-mode-power-supply/ CCFL inverter" printed circuit board as the first place to look for problem. You or someone will need to inspect the printed circuit board for component defects. If Westinghouse warranty not solution, then try to locate local tech that knows forwards and backwards all there is to know about common problems with SMPS/inverter circuits in LCD monitors and TV's. 12fixlouie
