My optowrite dvd rw dd0405 works great at burning music cd's and video cd's however, when I attempt to burn a dvd the software goes through all the steps, and I can hear the disc spinning in the drive, however the disc always comes out blank. I am running Windows XP and have burned dvd's in the past, using less RAM than I have installed now. I use Roxio Easy CD/DVD creator and at the end of the "burn" it tells me there was 1. a recorder error (mechanical failure) 2. a write error (buffer underrun occurred) and 3. a track write error (command retry failed). Any suggestions on how to remedy this, short of purchasing a new dvd burner?
