Lean on the power button while it's connected. If no screen appears, do the same while connected to a usb port. It will show if it's charging on the screen. If no display, lean on the power button for 10 seconds while it's plugged in. Still nothing? Buy another for $160 used but get the model that also runs on AC. Also, get a protective case. I'm second guessing that your tascam took a hit or you're using the wrong supply maybe? I thought mine was dead once then I just kept on the power button for about 10 seconds and it came back to life from a deep hibernation. .I'm going to buy a second battery so I can run it down all the way & charge it back up all the way. The usb charge is healthier for your unit. (Tascam, that is.). Good luck Touchdown2000
