I can't connect to the internet using my Linksys WRT54GX2 router
I can access the router from the PC but not the internet. However, I can connect to the internet by plugging my cable modem to my pc. I'm running Vista Home SP 2.

this is the easyiest way.
click connect to(or the connection buttotn)>>connect to the router/internet accesspoint>>after getting connected right click on the connection>>
status>>properties>>networking>>(double click)internet protocol version( u will see two of them do both of them one after one)>>check obtain ip address automaticaly(both)>>check obtain dns address automatically(both).
now close the windows and try to connect again.
