I can't erase the existing programming
I don't seem to be able to programme and not even erase the existing program even by depressing the Event Cursor and Time curson icons for 5 seconds as suggested in the pamplet.

I thought I had same problem or that black bars would not erase. It turned out that the switch is sent with a clear decal over the LCD display that makes it look like its on while in the display packaging. I peeled away the decal and everything worked ok.
