I think you may have a friction fit type of deadbolt. Remove the door knob or the knob you turn to slide the deadbolt. There should be a shaft that comes out with the knob and was sticking through the inside part of the deadbolt. Now pull the deadbolt straight out, you probably need pliers for this part, be gentle so you don't take the finish off the bolt. I hope this helps, if it doesn't then I may need more info.
