I can't get the guide lines to adjust my project. In the menu of my documents, everything looks ok, but when I click on a project it comes up long and skinny and I can't get it to the correct size

In order to help you further with this issue, please let me know which software are you using?
The display looking skinny and not the correct size, can be due to the incorrect settings for the display on your monitor.
Are you getting the same result for all applications, or is it specific to one of them?
