I have experienced this problem with an AVR510. When the power goes out or it is unplugged from the wall there seems to be no memory of the input settings for each of the sources. If you have it set for a dvd player connected with digital coax, when the power goes out it will revert to the factory default of analog. The receiver will be looking for an analog RCA connection input from the DVD not digital coax or fiber optic. Try resetting your input settings for each source to match your wiring.
