Chances are the trans. filter is not installed correctly because if it has a leak or the gasket was not seating properly the valve body will **** air and the trans. will not engage properly when shift into drive or reverse. Drain the fluid remove the pan and be sure the gromet and supporting bracket are in place or if this transmission uses a gasket check to make sure the gasket and its mating surfaces are free of all old gasket material and debree of any kind and that the hold down bolts are tight.
