I changed the key fob battery (twice) in my 2004 9-3 but still get the Replace Battery indicator - - and cannot lock using the remote... although unlocking works fine. How can I reset the indicator to reflect that the battery has been replaced?

When batteries are replaced in the key fob you need to reset the key using a procedure:- for your car it should be this!
With the car in range of the transponder, you now need to reset the key by pressing the arm/disarm buttons at least 5 times.
Did you already re-sync?
"After you change the battery, be sure to put the key in the ignition and start the car so it will re-sync."
"You sync it with the key in the ignition turned to 'ON' and press the UNLOCK button 7-10 times."
