I do not get any sound from the speakers when using the turntable. Good sound when using CD player and radio. I can hear faint music sound directly from the needle

Hello! On the rear of the unit are audio out Left and Right; Used to run your unit through a stereo or television. The Aux in Left and Right is coming from your turntable. If this is the way you have it connected, and the turntable still has a no audio condition; Replace the cables.
