I do not have the manual for this saw, Poulan pp3816 pro 38cc, could not get it to rum, not sure how log it has been since it last ran, put newgas hose on due to it was broke. Saw will start when primed but will not stay running. This is my first chain saw, not sure what the black handle is on the front of saw, is this a kick back device that needs to be placed in a certion position to run. Thanks for any help for this first time user

Type just the model numbers (choose the suffix after the list is provided).
It sounds as though the fuel system is plumbed in reverse, it should be similar to this.
