I downloaded a file to my desktop from my server using Fetch last week. It's a Quark file and it opened just fine. Trashed it since I didn't need it. Now client wants to make changes so I downloaded the file again. This time the Quark doc has no icon, it's just blank and when I try to open it it tells me that it kind the application it was created in. Help!
The file extension for your quark file is not being recognized as belonging to any any application installed on your computer or the file extension was lost when you transferred the file (in which case, you can rename the file and put the file extension back on, e.g. change MyFile to MyFile.qxp).
I'm assuming that you still have Quark installed on the computer you are trying to open the file on. If not, you should install it, which will resolve the problem.
You can try repairing an existing installation: Look in your control panel for programs installed on your computer. Click on the Quark installation to see if a change or repair option is shown for it. If so, attempt a repair, which may solve the problem.
