I dropped my pantech ease in water for about two seconds. I removed the battery and put it in a container with uncooked rice for a day. I put the battery and sim card back in. The phone lights up when plugged into the charger but says "put in a sim card". The sim card works in my old phone. The battery seems to be charging. I read that I should take it apart to try and to get more water out. How do you take it apart?
No... taking it apart .. unless you KNOW what you are doing is not smart.. take the battery out.. when the sun is out and there is NO chance of rain..sit it outside in a bowl of uncooked rice.. it will dry out.. you might have to clean the contact surfaces where the sim card goes.. With the battery OUT.. use a magnifying glass (this is a tiny area and a tedious undertaking) and a long sewing needle to lightly rub the contact surfaces to remove any corrosion.. make sure the contacts are clean and reinstall the sim card and battery,,,
