I gave my 1969 Olympia portable electric typewriter to a friend. She can't get it to returen to a new line. I seem to recall there is a verticle lock, but not how to adjust it. Any help?

Near the Left platen knob there is a selector lever to select the line spacing. Ensure that it is not set to 0.
