CAUTION!! The lens is delicate! I wipe DVD lenses with ONE drop of glasses cleaner on a Q-tip and, starting in the center, wipe in circles to the outside. Do not press down! Do not force the lens side to side. It will move while cleaning but don't put more pressure than needed to move the lens 3/4 way down! Its a cheap test to se if there is a fingerprint on the lens. (You won't be able to see it - does not take much) If this does not help, it means it needs a laser or worse. Probably just replace the player.

This generaly means the laser is having a tough time reading the disc. You can try cleaning the laser lens.
