I got a refurbished toshiba laptop, when starting it first time I entered the date&time but then switched it off. Is there a way I can either carry on the initial process or start again from scratch

After entering the time/date, click on apply. If no apply, use the start menu button to shut down and not the off/on switch. What operating system are you using?
