I got a RPPI 2500W from a flea market it came with no paper work. i need to know if i have to connet 2 hot wire & 2 grounds or can I get by with 1 of each. And do they need to be connected to 2 batteries

Run a single hot wire directly from the battery to the inverter and use a single ground wire the ground the inverter. Suggest you add an inline fuse to the 'hot' line to protect the inverter.
