I guess i am just looking for confermation for what i already know. i removed the drain plug and no fluid. also found three small pieces of metal on drain plug. Tranfer case is pooched correct
Stephan thanks for the quick response on the question. Why is my rihgt side cv axle moving in and out of the tranfer case. I believe the seal must have gone and leaked all the fluid out and pooched the transfer case. funny thing is there is not much sign off fluid on the underside of car. thx aqain

Get a small magnetic to reach inside the case. See if any more metal comes out. If not, fill it. Listen for noise as driving. Excessive noise or vibration, replace it. Fix the leak also
